Autonomous Interpretation in the Brussels I bis Regulation

Summary
This contribution discusses the autonomous interpretation of concepts in the Brussels I bis regulation. It explains a meaning of “autonomous interpretation” and gives guidance for establishment of  autonomous concepts in the Regulation. Most particularly, this article deals with the autonomous meanings of “sale of goods”, “provision of services”, “object rights in rem in immovable property or tenancies” and difficulties of application of those concepts in the courts of Latvia.
