Summary
In order to determine whether compensations to victims in criminal proceedings are fair, justified, and in accordance with criminal procedural regulations, a master’s thesis was developed with a primary focus on the regulatory framework concerning determining compensation for non-material damage and resulting damages in criminal proceedings.
The research examined ninety court judgments, from which fifty were selected for in-depth analysis and evaluation of the circumstances determining compensation for non-material harm. As a result, deficiencies in determining compensation for non-material damage and violations existing in compensation determination practice were identified.
The author provided suggestions for addressing these issues, offering solutions for improving the compensation institution.
