Summary
The current article provides an insight into the concept of the Institute of Criminally Acquired Property in the territory of Latvia as part of the Russian Empire. After the establishment of the Republic of Latvia, the laws and regulations of the Russian Empire on criminally acquired property were adopted. It should be emphasized that after inclusion into the Russian Empire in the XVIII century, local laws in the territory of Latvia were taken into account, explaining the basic principles of the criminally obtained property institute in Russian Empire in the XIX century.
